Alliance Law Firm is pleased to present to you the first installment in her Creative Nigeria Series – The Alliance Law Firm Roundtable titled: “Financing and Protecting the Creative Industry in Nigeria: The Film Sector in Focus”

With the Nigerian entertainment industry becoming a global standard, and a pacesetter of the arts in Africa, there is need to focus dearly on this sector of the economy. The Federal Government realized the importance of this and in a bid to emphasize the importance of the creative industry, it granted pioneer status for services in it. In all of these, the sector still faces some challenges such as finance and piracy.

As part of its Creative Nigeria Series initiative, Alliance Law Firm organized its first installment i.e. a Roundtable event, which focused on the film sector on Friday, 23rd August, 2019 at the conference room of its office in Ikoyi, Lagos. The theme was “Financing and Protecting the Creative Industry in Nigeria – The Film Sector in Focus”. From an Alliance Law Firm perspective, the vision of the series is to influence policy reform and solution-based interventions in the industry, as well as contribute towards the socio-economic well-being of her community through socially responsible causes.

On Wednesday, the 21st day of August 2019, the Managing Partner of the firm, Uche Val Obi, SAN delivered a keynote lecture on the topic: “The Need to Dispense With lengthy Judgments/Rulings In Our Quest For Quicker Justice Delivery System: Arguments For and Against” at the public presentation of the second edition of Mr. Olumide Babalola’s Law Dictionary of Judicially Defined Words and Phrases
